Social Media and Google Takes Action Against Fake News Creators

Google, Facebook, and other social media websites have decided to make campaign against “fake news” creators. They want to secure their platforms from foreign governments, which are deploying misleading content on their sites and are spreading threat level among social media users.

According to experts, the threat level is high on social media platforms. It is the bad impact of some culprits, who use such platforms for spreading threats for varied things.

Reportedly, many Russian actors have used social media sites for posting photos to influencing 2016 elections. Although, it is found that Russia is the source spreading false information about elections over social channel like Facebook and Search Engine like Google. They are trying to combat hoaxes and distribute negative impression about them.

Reportedly, in December Google has launched a set of features which enables users to point out or flag false content, stories, photos, etc., if, they are ambiguous and shows negative impressions on viewers.

Similarly, Facebook has also made changes in its algorithm and started to track negative remarks, impressions, stories, content, etc., posted by culprits through their personal profiles.

Google has turned strongly to ban unauthorized news channels, which are posting wrong news or misleading content on the search engine. Besides, the giant also tracks false news, which are ranking lower in the index or contains wrong information about topic. All are being tracked strictly by Google.

On the other end, Facebook also wants to clear about its platform that it is not going to entertain fake news creators, false stories, and content, which are spreading notorious image about anything or give wrong information in the society for any campaign. The company will track all wrongs strongly and will ban the creators too.

In the report, Facebook, Twitter, and Google have not commented about their coordination with the U.S. intelligence agencies regarding their campaigns. Still, Facebook has not given any confirmation that it is going to cooperate with government cyber security firms to track forged content on its site and protect social media channels to be used as open source to spread wrong information about anything to the world.
